【明報專訊】David Cameron has called his China trip a "vitally important trade mission". His contribution to the Wall Street Journal says, "A strong relationship with China is plainly in Britain's national interests." However, one thing he did during the trip might have marred Sino-British relations.
David Cameron and his fellow visitors wore Remembrance Day poppies, which signify remembrance of the sacrifices of civilians and members of the armed forces in times of war, especially since World War I. However, the Chinese authorities said that might stir up unhappy memories of the Opium Wars (鴉片戰爭).
