【明報專訊】The Hong Kong Food Council, a non-government organisation, was established in 1984 by local food brands. It aims at protecting the local food industry's interests. It advocates improving food hygiene and protecting public health. Food labelling (食品標籤法) had been under discussion since 2008, and a set of food labelling regulations came into force in July 2010. Under the regulations, ingredients and nutrition data must be clearly labelled on all pre-packaged food products except those exempt from the requirements.
