【明報專訊】Avril Ramona Lavigne, singer-songwriter, was born on September 27, 1984 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. Born into a strict Christian family, Avril grew up singing in the church choir and playing the guitar. She was discovered singing country covers in Kingston, Ontario, and signed with Arista Records soon after. She released her first album Let Go in 2002. A mixture of pop and punk, the record sold 15 million copies worldwide, thanks to the hugely popular single Complicated.
Her second album Under My Skin was released in 2004. She subsequently won two World Music Awards for World's Best Pop/Rock Artist and World's Best Selling Canadian Artist. In 2006, Lavigne made news with her personal life, marrying fellow rocker Deryck Whibley from the band Sum 41. Shedding (除去) some of her angst-ridden (充滿憂慮的) teen image, Lavigne released her album The Best Damn Thing in 2007. The album reached the number one spot on the charts, thanks to such songs as Girlfriend, Hot, and When You're Gone. She co-wrote all of the tracks in the recording.
In July 2009, Lavigne branched out in a new direction. She launched her first fragrance (香水), which is named Dark Star.
